Position summary: Our Commercial Team is expanding, and we are looking for a commercial-technical employee for the Italian market.
This role represents the first step in a commercial-technical career path, which may evolve—based on performance and business needs—into roles such as Sales Account Manager or Field Engineer.
During the first 12 months, the selected candidate will follow a structured onboarding program, which will include:
- An internal rotation across various departments (quotation, customer service, and technical office).
- On-the-job training with senior colleagues and customer visits.
- Targeted technical and commercial training.
Key responsibilities
Customer Management- Demonstrate professionalism, active listening, and empathy in every customer interaction.
- Maintain ongoing relationships with existing customers and identify new sales opportunities.
- Support customers in selecting the most suitable Swagelok solutions and components for their applications.
- Analyze sales data to propose products and services aligned with customer purchasing profiles.
- Conduct prospecting activities through phone calls, email campaigns, and visits to potential customers.
- Participate in technical presentations and customer meetings to propose customized solutions.
- Select and recommend Swagelok catalog products based on the technical requirements provided by customers.
- Provide post-sales technical support for existing installations and manage returns.
- Become a commercial and technical point of reference for customers through continuous training and professional growth.
- Apply acquired technical knowledge to improve the quality of proposed solutions.
- Develop mastery of company sales techniques (e.g., Team-Based Selling) and the tools provided.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical disciplines, or business/economics; or a technical diploma with certified training experience.
- Even brief experience in customer-facing roles (sales and/or technical support).
- Interest in industrial components, fluid systems, automation, or mechanical equipment.
- Knowledge of or strong interest in fluid system components (valves, fittings, regulators, tubing).
- Ability to learn technical concepts quickly and a solution-oriented mindset.
- Proactivity, curiosity, and continuous improvement mindset.
- Good knowledge of technical English (reading and comprehension) – B1 level.
- Familiarity with IT tools (Office and preferably SAP).
